I love that glass pyramid and I saw that steel sculpture at MONA !! How cool is Hobart !
I think I was missing the chiln that day! All I wanted to photograph was paintings of mothers and babies :)
I like that hunny with the thumbs up! He said G'day to everyone he met - mostly they had no idea what he just said to them :)
I would love to have dinner for you at that table but I will give the fabric pigs a miss :)

What am I lining up to see ?

I lined up with the rest of them to see the Mona Lisa. It was an amazing moment -to stand there and actually see with my own eyes a famous painting that has attracted so much attention.
Then on the left hand wall I spied another work of art. It stopped me in my tracks. As I surveyed it I wished that it was the one I had lined up for , waited with anticipation and excitement to see, jostled for a photo with , travelled across the world just to see.
There was no waiting to see this painting , noone obstructing my view of it. It was hung high on the wall , in full view of us all. We were all free to look at it - if we would.
I wished that we would all turn to face Him. To reverence Him and ponder all that He taught us and did for us.
Thats what life's like huh ! We get distracted from the real purpose.

One day I will join the line - to fall at his feet and plead for His mercy.
I know He lives and that the sacrifice He made for us on the cross will save us all.
I stand all amazed !

All Hallows Eve

I don't think I will make an article in "Better Homes than mine " magazine , Halloween ideas section !! :)
But I'm having fun with my dinky Halloween decorating :)
I think we love Halloween - I think it's because the boys can see lotsa lollies on the horizon.
Anyhew. Hope your Halloween preparations are fang - tastic ! Hee :)

Family night

In 1915 President Joseph F. Smith asked the people of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to have family home evening. Monday nights were set aside to devote time specifically for the family.
It was to be a time for teaching , reading the scriptures , of cultivating talents , of discussing family matters and to strengthen family bonds.
We have been having family night for many years - some weeks are better then others - but we are together , the children love it and we are drawing closer to each other.
Tonight we took time out from our regular lounge room routine and went to dinner at the yacht club. Twas a balmy Hobart evening - yes they do happen :) We came home for ice cream dessert and watched a "Mormon message " about seminary (they always make me sniff :))
I am so grateful for this Church. I am grateful for the sweet counsel of living Prophets. I know they are called of God to guide us throughout our lives. I know that when we follow their counsel we are blessed beyond measure.
Family night is just one of these many blessings.

Lamingtons for the fair

Joyce and Aunty Norma knew how to make lamingtons !
And they would always make them for the Fete.
Tip Top madeira cake - cut in half length ways, in half again, in half again and in half again ! :)
Dip each piece in the cocoa sauce (which was whisked with egg beaters - essential !:))
roll in coconut and then into the Tupperware !!
It just isn't a Fair without Joyce's lamingtons! :)

Setting the sails

We are very grateful to Tone and the big boys who built the boat cubby for us last regatta day !

Ammon found the violin gathering dust behind the piano. This afternoon we have flute , piano and now ... Violin being practiced .
He actually sounds ok :)

Best carrot cake

I wanted to make up my best carrot cake this morn and so it was time to crack open the walnuts ! How exciting. They have been in buckets since last summer.
Tis fun to begin to finally use some :)
We love smashing walnuts :)

A Day in my spring garden

Pure bliss.
I just noticed my birthday flower has bloomed. The wisteria. It flowered outside the window where my mother lay with me in her arms as her first born baby. Aaaaaww :)
We love the wisteria :)
