Lovin' cub scout camps

home again and had a great time.

funniest overheards from Gil

when Gil saw the lunch on the table ,which i had lovingly layed out for their homecoming he said

"orh mum didnt you get red cabbage"

?????

apparently it was one of the new foods he tried ...and loved:)!!!!mums gotta be happy with that.

and another Gil comment

"guess what we had for lunch yesterday...chicken noodle soup"and im thinking ...enough with the cooking just get out the good ole packet of chicken noodle....is it 46 cents...:)and like how much effort. :)

and before we began our lunch he says to all...dont begin until everyone is seated and has their food in front of them...lovin these cub leaders...but actually isnt that what we have been trying to tell them for years now.

missed you guys but sounds like an awseome fun time...and Tone, Father of the year for going down and helping by organising some cool stuff on saturday:)

yummy

yeah ! lets put some yummy food photos on our blog...keeping up with all you cooks out there.

Brownies!

The Red Plate

We read in the "Friend "magazine about a family who has a red plate which they present to a family member to use at meal time for doing something special.(or for any special reason they like really)so we thought it would be fun for us too...havent found a red plate yet but found this throw away one to use in the mean time.
Tone was our red plate guy today..just for being great:)and doin some good stuff with his business :)
congrats babe:)

blogging is hazardous to your furniture

if your 3 year old has the paint box while you are posting on your blog.
at least it stayed on the table and chair and i wiped it off the sole of his shoe in time.

I didnt plan to be a witch

THIS is the best book i have read in ages.probabaly coz I... well ...um ....kinda need the info contained therein....badly!!!
You can probably guess why the cover caught my eye.Boy number 5 at this place and things are going crazy with my emotions and hormones after the birth soooo the title kinda caught my eye.
but its so full of wisdom and stories to make you feel totally normal.I have had so many ideas since reading it to help with this clan and it has just been comforting to know of other Mums who have had similar feelings and situations to cause them to don a black pointy hat and jump on a broom and start flying round the house making everyone else miserable as well...even if it is ALL THIER FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE...ok ok breath Bronnie!!!
so!! highly recommended :)
check it out..chapters such as
Preschoolers are horrible and adorable
Children fail and so do mothers
Teenagers are like werewolves
There is a speed in going slow
Praise is a secret weapon
and many more
loved it :)

The Nest

We wanted one of these groovy highchairs for Josh.Tone was developing them in China for a client and these are some of the samples .
When he was unpacking it i said"uuuum!!!its pink!!!"
so then the chorus of boys pipe up with comments such as "Mum dont you know everyone is into pink now " and "i have heaps of friends whose favourite colour is pink" and the all time classic....
"Us boys have been discriminated against for too long and now we want pink!!!"
so poor lil Josh gets put in his new pink highchair at first he screwed up his nose and then as you can see in the photo decided it wasnt that bad after all!
hmmmm we will see!
(Im hoping he will find another bowl next time... good ole fashioned boy colours....Blue,green this mum will even take orange!!but pink ??)
:)
ho hum

Pressies

Its like Christmas here when Tone gets back from a trip to China. This time he finally bought me these pretty chinese souveniers.I love the handbags etc etc but I kinda like these better.

The boys red army hats might be a little controversial at the moment, but they do love them.

Tony on the Great wall of China

Ok we really are happy for you Babe!!!
buuuut........
we wanna come!!
this time he went to a part of the wall that had a luge type track with a taboggan that went down a zig zag track about the height of mount wellington.he said he got a bit of speed up at times coz the chinese are a bit timid and not into speed racing. Then its a cable car back up to the top again...good idea for the ole mt wellington hey.
look at all that clear chinese air...(not)...lets be grateful for blue skies all you aussies and try not to be green with envy coz you not on the wall...like me...hmmm blue skies or the great wall???
can i just add my poem now!!??
(well poem used by Pres Hinckley couple conferences ago at the Relief Society session)
now a favourite of mine,
By Anne Campbell
You are the trip I did not take;
You are the pearls I cannot buy;
You are my blue Italian lake;
You are my piece of foreign sky.
("To my child,"quoted in Charles L.Wallis, ed.,The Treasure Chest (1965),54.
